Project Management Areas
Progress & Performance
Using consistent, quantifiable, and defendable progress and performance measures provides confidence in knowing what has been completed on a project and what amount of resources has been expended for this accomplishment. Without accurate progress measurement, it is difficult to be certain what is and isn’t completed. This leads to ambiguous cost and schedule statuses, and diminished forecasting abilities. Reliable progress and performance measures promote accurate analysis vis-à-vis planned and actual values, help identify remaining work, and stimulate accurate forecasting and decision-making for a project.
